Monitor guidance

Source availability and status

Status wording distinguishes successful zero observations from unavailable source evidence.

Near-real-time states

Operational
Both governed sources succeeded for the accepted release.
Degraded
One source failed and the available source was published. The failed source is unavailable, not zero.
Stale
The last accepted release is older than the configured threshold. Valid records remain visible with publication age and latest acquisition time.
Valid empty
Source processing succeeded but the selected Ghana window contains zero retained detections.
Initialising
No accepted public release exists yet.
Unavailable or error
The pointer, contract, release or selected window could not be loaded or validated.

Historical states

Available with records
The selected UTC date has retained detections.
Available zero records
Expected observations were available and valid but no Ghana detections were retained.
Source missing
Expected source observations are missing, so zero activity cannot be inferred.
Structurally unavailable
A sensor did not yet have governed support for that date.
Partial
The date belongs to a source year with incomplete temporal coverage.

Interpreting counts

Unavailable sensors are labelled unavailable. They are never converted to a zero count. Displayed detections reflect the current filters, whereas source status describes whether the underlying observations were available and successfully processed.
